TIPS

Carolyn has put together a few key staging tips to help you increase your odds of a successful sale:

Declutter. A cluttered house will overwhelm potential buyers. Go through your closets, basement and garage. An organized and neat home will appeal to potential buyers.

Don’t do anything drastic. Before you start tearing down walls, replacing floors or taking on any major renovations, call us! You’ll be amazed how far staging goes in transforming your space.

Invest in accent pieces. While it is important to keep your décor neutral in order to appeal to a broad range of buyers, you still want your home to have some character. Adding an accent piece, like a unique chair or original artwork, is a great way to inject a little personality into a room.

Think neat freak. If your house is not neat and clean, buyers will notice – no matter how nicely staged it is. Cleanliness plays a huge role in the overall appeal of your home.

Make space. If you feel that your living room is too crowded, it probably is. Give the potential buyer a chance to feel and see your space, not just your stuff.
